| From Jul-Nov 2003 I took an extended vacation to Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Being apart from my family was tough, but I was able to see and experience some things most people will never get to. The war that took place there in the 90's still has many lasting effects on their country, and while they are making strides to make things better they are still decades behind the rest of the world and they may never catch up... While I was there I had the chance to take a 4-day trip to Italy and see Venice and Rome, and I had several trips to Croatia, to the coast along the Adriatic Sea and also to the capital city of Zagreb. |
